Hello Knight Football Family,
It has been an exciting couple of months for us. We had a tough fall camp, as well as a tough first three weeks of the season. We can see all the hard work paying off. As we hit the bye week, I would love to include you in all the great things happening with Knight Football.
We had a great opportunity to go to River Falls, WI. to play the defending national champions. We built in a four day trip to go there and I am sure the adventure is one the players will never forget. Though the game did not turn out in any way as we imagined, we were able to see what a National Championship team looks like. Currently we have seventeen freshmen starting for us across offense, defense, and our specialists. The first game of their college career was eye opening. The expectation is to win, but in this case it was important for us to evaluate as a team what it is going to take to compete at the National level. It was also a great game to prepare us to compete at the conference level.
Even though we have a young team, we have great leadership from our upperclassmen. Men who love the process of getting ready for game day, and men who embrace the role of being Christlike examples in the way they lead and compete. It was great to see the team come out with a huge win against Keystone University. I have three expectations for every player on the team:
1. Be Coachable
2. Be a Good Teammate
3. RUN & HIT
It is easy to do all three when things are going our way and we face little opposition. But what about when things are difficult? When we are playing great teams? These men are examples of those three characteristics.
As we head into the bye week, we are focused on getting our bodies rested, keeping our grades high, and preparing for conference play.
We will travel to Greensboro October 3rd. The game will be at 6:00 PM. We hope all of you are able to watch.
GO KNIGHTS!
